Rediscovery Workshop Series | India Art Fair

Since 2021, LAND has curated the Rediscovery Workshop Series at India Art Fair, developing a public learning programme that situates contemporary artistic practice within wider conversations around material culture, memory, ecology, craft traditions, and museum education. Conceived as research-based participatory engagements, the workshops invite audiences of all ages to investigate artistic processes through making, dialogue, and close observation.

Working in collaboration with India Art Fair artists, independent practitioners, and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), the programme has explored diverse artistic methodologies, including textiles, clay, endangered knot-making traditions, indigenous knowledge systems, play, identity, archives, and material memory. Each workshop is designed around the specific conceptual and material concerns of an artist's practice, enabling participants to understand artworks through process rather than product.

Alongside the workshops, LAND has developed complementary pedagogical interventions including museum-learning experiences, artist conversations through bhaitak, children's libraries, and interactive knowledge spaces that expand the learning environment beyond the studio. Collectively, the programme positions the art fair as a site for sustained public pedagogy, where artistic practice becomes a mode of research, interpretation, and critical engagement with contemporary culture.
