Art Medium Circle

In collaboration with Devi Art Foundation.

Art Medium Circle, an initiative by Devi Art Foundation with LAND as its knowledge partner, is a research-led learning network exploring the intersections of contemporary art, pedagogy, and community knowledge.

Since 2021, the programme has brought together artists, educators, researchers, scientists, archaeologists, puppeteers, artisans, naturalists, and cultural practitioners to collectively investigate questions emerging from culture, ecology, education, and society. Grounded in transdisciplinary collaboration, it views research as a shared process of inquiry, reflection, and knowledge-making.

The programme unfolds through three interconnected pillars: Research, where practitioners collaboratively develop inquiries and learning resources; the Art Medium Conclave, a national platform for dialogue and exchange; and the Educator Learning Community, through which educators receive grants, mentorship, and research resources to create locally rooted learning initiatives.

Today, this growing network is active across West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, cultivating community-centred learning practices where art becomes a methodology of inquiry and communities become active participants in the creation of knowledge.
