Wipro's Art Project
By Wipro
Wipro is a global technology company whose commitment to innovation is grounded in the belief that meaningful progress is shaped through people, ideas, and shared futures. As Wipro's Art Advisor, LAND conceived and developed a contemporary art collection that placed communities, lived experience, and cultural knowledge at the centre of its curatorial vision.
The collection emerged through sustained research, artist commissions, and collaborations that foregrounded voices often underrepresented within institutional spaces. Working alongside artists, craftspeople, and communities—including engagements with the transgender community and research into endangered textile traditions—LAND brought together works that recognised art as a repository of memory, identity, labour, ecology, and belonging. Rather than treating community as a subject to represent, the collection approached communities as knowledge systems, allowing their histories, practices, and perspectives to shape the conceptual and material language of the artworks themselves.
Accompanied by conversations, interpretive resources, and learning engagements across the organisation, the collection became more than a display of contemporary art. It evolved into a living cultural ecology that invited employees to encounter diverse ways of knowing, reflect on the complexities of our shared world, and recognise creativity as a practice of dialogue, care, and collective imagination.
