In collaboration with the Helen Hamlyn Foundation and INTACH, LAND curated a special edition of the FILMIT Project at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, reimagining heritage education through the language of moving images. Bringing together learners from Classes 5 to 10, the programme invited young participants to engage with their cities as living knowledge systems—where architecture, memory, ecology, community, and everyday cultural practices became subjects of inquiry and storytelling.

Through workshops in visual narrative, filmmaking, documentation, and critical observation, learners developed short films that interpreted heritage beyond monuments, exploring local histories, oral traditions, crafts, landscapes, and lived experiences. The process encouraged participants to look closely, research deeply, and communicate thoughtfully through cinema as a creative and reflective medium.

Grounded in LAND's pedagogical approach, the programme positioned filmmaking not simply as a technical skill but as a methodology for learning—where documenting the world becomes a way of understanding it, and heritage emerges as a shared, evolving conversation between people, place, and culture.
