Reading Roots explores wonder as a pedagogical and affective force emerging through the library as a space of encounter, imagination, and belonging. Rooted in Aseem’s Library at Rainbow Khushi Care Home, the initiative invites young readers to engage with books not merely as repositories of knowledge but as catalysts for curiosity, dream-thinking, and self-discovery. Bringing together 15 learners and 5 creative practitioners, the programme transformed reading into a collective act of inquiry and creation. Through dialogue, reflection, and storytelling, participants reimagined lived realities and authored their own narratives, demonstrating how libraries can nurture literacy, care, critical consciousness, and creative possibility.
